April 30, 2020 Ponder Anew What the Almighty Can Do!

​God has spoken to many people lately saying He is doing a NEW THING. Everything is changing, and God is saying we must not go back!  It is our choice to go back, but it will NOT go well for us if we do. 
 
In this season of our lives, God is calling His remnant to strengthen the brethren and to reach out to those who are hurting and lost.  God’s heart has always been and will ever be SALVATION. We must raise and wave the banners of SALVATION, REDEMPTION, and RESTORATION when we pray.  Everything we pray for needs to be under these banners.  When we pray God’s heart like this, it is to bring people into reconciliation with God
 
2 Corinthians 5:18-20  Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
 
We are God’s ambassadors here on earth. An ambassador is someone who is commissioned (entrusted with the duty) to convey (transmit, pass on) messages from the king to the people. 
In order to do this effectively we must let God put His love for mankind in us as never before, so we can truly convey His message of salvation, redemption, and restoration. 
 
We do this primarily by interceding for those God puts on our heart to pray for.  Almighty God is the One who reveals what we are to pray, and He is the One who puts a fire, passion, and zeal inside of His intercessors to pray His heart.
 
We also are God’s ambassador when we are His hands and feet, reaching out to those who are lost and hurting. That is very difficult to do right now, so we tend to do little or nothing.  But God has not changed that part of our job title as ambassadors. As God is doing a new thing upon the earth, we need to ask the Lord for new and creative ways to show those who are hurting and in need that we love them and are wanting to comfort them with God’s love. I was listening to an old Hymn this morning, and one of the lines was “Ponder anew what the Almighty can do”. So often we try to minster in our own strength and in our old ways, but God is desiring to do NEW things through each one of us.
 
I think it is about time that we truly understand that our lives are not our own. That is one of my cries this morning.
 
1 Corinthians 6:19-20  Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
 
I urge you to ask the Lord every day, “Who should we reach out to today, and how can we truly help, encourage, and comfort them?”
