January 10 Psalm 119:37-40 He
(37) Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way. (38) Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You. (39) Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgments are good. (40) Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness. He aquí yo he anhelado tus mandamientos; Vivifícame en tu justicia”

Psal 119:37 NKJV Turn away (cover) my eyes from looking (beholding) at worthless things... As I think about this verse I am reminded of the visual world we live in with all the worthless images at our fingertips. Lord, remind me to behold and fear You and not be lured in to worthless things that divert my attention from Your Truth.

Turn away my eyes (cause my eyes to pass away from). Isaiah 33:15 He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly; he who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands free from holding bribes, who stops his ear from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil; v16 he will dwell on high....

Revive is the translation of chayah, "to live," "cause to live," used of restoration to life (Genesis 45:27; Judges 15:19, etc.); of rebuilding (Nehemiah 4:2); of restoration to well-being (Psalms 85:6 (the Revised Version (British and American) "quicken");

The last 8 weeks we have been under the banner of AWAKEN, and now we are under the banner of RESURRECTION LOVE. We are still under the letter HEI, which means to breathe. Twice in Psalm 119:37-40 the word REVIVE is used. The Hebrew word for REVIVE is CHAYAH, which begins with a HEI. Revive means to breathe life back into someone. When we are in need of reviving because of the worthless and immoral things we get ourselves entangled with, we need the Holy Spirit to breathe on us and bring us back to life! This comes through Holy Spirit breathed study of God’s Word and His precepts, so we can accept His judgments, righteousness, and correction. We must BREATHE IN the Holy Spirit when we stray from God’s ways. Comments are closed.
