Day 4 - Psalm 119:13-16 - Beth

1/5/2020

January 5        Psalm 119:13-16         Beth
(13)  With my lips I have declared All the judgments of Your mouth.  (14)  I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches.  (15)  I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways.  (16)  I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
Enero 5      Salmo 119:13-16
“Con mis labios he contado Todos los juicios de tu boca. Me he gozado en el camino de tus testimonios Más que de toda riqueza. En tus mandamientos meditaré; Consideraré tus caminos. Me regocijaré en tus estatutos; No me olvidaré de tus palabras”

Already in the first 16 verses of Psalm 119 we have seen nine different words used for God’s Word: ways, law, testimonies, precepts, statutes, commandments, judgments, word, and ordinances.

We have also see the verbs that tell us how we should interact with God’s Word:

• Walk- follow God’s path
• Observe – guard His Word
• Seek after – follow what is said
• Keep- cherish and protect
• Look – read and think about deeply, ponder
• Give thanks- worship
• Learn – be a student and teach others
• Tell others – write and speak to others
• Rejoice – treasure His Word
• Meditate – think about and pray
• Contemplate – look at closely
• Delight- read with great joy
• Not forget them – remember what you have read and studied

Let’s ponder today, how are we doing?

Thanks Vikki a very good summary of where this is taking us. Listen to today's message on sermon.net on Do you want to be well. Helps us ponder on where we have been

Psalm 119:13-16 As I read these verses from my heart...

"With my lips I have openly believed and spoke everything you have revealed to me from Your own mouth. I dance, sing, praise and give thanks in everything that brings glory to You, just like I will if I have great wealth. My Lord, I will sit quietly and think about the commands You have given to us, and make an attentive decision to choose Your ways. I will pleasure myself with Your desires; I will not lose heart." 😭

This is so beautiful to me and brought correction once more to my soul (vs15 & 16). To really sit, quiet my soul and choose God's ways everyday can come by grace alone. I cry because we as the Church are equipped to do this by the grace of God with the Holy Spirit's help. But personally I don't everyday like I did in the early days (knowing that the Holy Spirit guided me in this pattern). Father help us! We want to do the same works, with the same love, by the same Spirit as we did before when You birth us into Your kingdom in Jesus name ask. 🙏
