day 16 - psalm 119:69-72 - TetH

1/17/2020

January 17
(69)  The proud have forged a lie against me, But I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.  (70)  Their heart is as fat as grease, But I delight in Your law.  (71)  It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.  (72)  The law of Your mouth is better to me Than thousands of coins of gold and silver.
Enero 17     Salmo 119:69-72
“Contra mí forjaron mentira los soberbios, Mas yo guardaré de todo corazón tus mandamientos. Se engrosó el corazón de ellos como sebo, Mas yo en tu ley me he regocijado. Bueno me es haber sido humillado, Para que aprenda tus estatutos. Mejor me es la ley de tu boca Que millares de oro y plata”

Teth: vs 69-72
When we are going deeper into God's word and we are so delighted in Him and his commandments the enemy will hit back to hinder us. He will use people around us to challenge our love for God and his word.
Job had his share of this with his friends. He called them miserable comforters. Job 13:4 ' .....You however, smear me with lies;......'
David had to deal with such liers. In Ps. 109:2, ' .....for wicked and deceitful men have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues.' David always comforted himself in the Lord.

Sometimes we have to deal with those whose hearts are 'covered with fat ' Jeshurun was one of those. In Deut. 32:15 ; ' Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with good, and he became heavy and sleek. He abandoned God who made him and rejected the Rock of his Savior '
A very good warning for us never to reach a place where we get contented and we think we know. It is a dangerous place to be. We should always keep learning and walking in the word and commandments of God. When affliction comes, we should trust more in the word of God. Affliction does not mean God has abandoned us. He said that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is not a liar. He is trustworthy.

Thank you Father for the greatness of your WORD !!!🙏🔥

Amen Rose..... 71) It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes. Affliction will help those who have a willingness to please God. Those afflictions remind us that we missed something that needs to be corrected. Even when we mishandle a sharp objects, we can hurt ourselves or another person. Good constantly reminds us by His Spirit the word of Truth and affliction will cause us or remind us of His promises

The word GOOD is used six times in this passage under the letter TET. The Hebrew word for GOOD is TOB and it starts with the letter TET. It is easy to see the good in our good times, and our good circumstances; but verse 71 says “IT IS GOOD THAT I WAS AFFLICTED”. What good is to come out of affliction? This passage says through them we will learn His statutes, we will learn more about Him! God is always teaching us about His ways, especially in our times of testing and affliction.

The Book of James starts out talking about this same thing. He says we need to CONSIDER all the TRIALS we encounter in our lives JOY, because they are for our benefit. The trials produce endurances in us, which is a steadfast heart to follow God and remain under the trial until the Lord releases us. This endurance will have a PERFECT RESULT in our hearts and lives. (James 1:2-5)

So when we are afflicted by various trials and afflictions, we need to LOOK FOR THE GOOD. It may take a while to see the good, but we can KNOW that GOOD will come out of it IF we walk in God’s ways all the way through.

James 1:12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
