Tuesday, Oct. 27th Pray for Marriages Ephesians 5: 22-33
Good morning Father, today we pray for Vermont (Verd Mont)-french for green mountain. This land of trees and maple syrup speaks of the richness given to this land. Father, we pray today that the natural sweetness of the syrup of this land can flow and be gathered for to cleanse the heart of your nation. As with our early beginnings, consisting of Spanish, English and French explorers, African slaves, and American Indians, we ask You, once again, to bring the American people back to a place of unifying, under one nation, diversified, as our original forefathers but whole, as the God we serve. We pray for the leaders both church, state and federal to assimilate all the differences we have and come to a joint understanding, in wisdom, to move this nation from the brink of fracture to a place of wellness. We pray today in our country for the forgotten and the lost. We pray for the doctors and nurses in this land who are on the front lines, ministering to Your people. Today we pray for men and women who have sworn to care for the sick, that they be protected and covered. This morning we thank You Father as You have put us on a course to recapture the things we had lost. Standing this day on the green mountains of Vermont, declaring the goodness of God and the mercy You have shown toward us. Father, help us this day to recognize the abundant grace that has been shown to America and that we learn to extend that grace to others. America the beautiful land of my birth, stand beside her and guide her. We ask for Your blessings and we pray, as Abraham prayed, Father if there is but fifty righteous, will you destroy the righteous with the wicked. Hold back, our Father, the angel of death and say, as you said when David numbered the people, it is enough. It is enough of the disaster we bring on ourselves, it is enough of the hatred we show toward one another, it is enough of the time we spend arguing about what is unimportant. It is enough of the splitting of families, killing of babies, forgetting our elderly and leaving our God. Father, it is enough! Help us come back to stand together to say, once again and declare that we Love our God. In this last week, going into elections, Father, it is enough of divisive speeches and split opinions. Now let us stand in the brink of our Jerusalem and rebuild the walls that have been torn. Rebuild the altars that have been left unattended. Rebuild the church that is as fractured as much as the nation. Rebuild the hope we will overcome. Father today we say with confidence, this too will past, we will arise and rebuild and consider our ways. In Jesus name..amen
