voice of the lord

We will post on this blog what the Lord is sharing with us as a team.

Each of us hears differently from God because He has given each of us different gifts and abilities. When we bring together what God has given us individually, it creates a beautiful clear picture of God’s hearts and His instructions and plans for us corporately.

May 9, 2020    Embrace the Change, Don’t Look Back

In a very short time our world has been radically changed.   The Lord spoke to us six years ago and told us He was going to bring change to everything and everybody.  Of course we had no idea what that would look like, but change has definitely come to everybody. He said He was bringing this change so we will know that He is close to us and to let us know He wants us to be with Him.  (Living Water Book - A Change Has Come, 7-27-14)

Have we sought to get closer to the Lord these last two months?  I would say we have.  When our world gets shaken, Christians tend to run to God for answers, protection, and comfort.  During this time it seems like God has been speaking to His people more than before, or maybe we are just listening more out of desperation.

In the same prophetic psalm, God warned us in to Embrace the change and not look back to what our lives had been before.  He kept repeating: “Don’t look behind.” I keep hearing people say they just want their lives to be what they were before, they are waiting for things to get back to normal.  God brought this radical change to get our attention, and to bring us closer to Him; not to give us time off from our usual activities for a time and then return to life as usual!

I am crying out to God to help me not go back to the way I was before, but to embrace all the changes God has put in my life and the ones He desires to put in my life going forward. I do not want my flesh to deceive me, and pull me off the mountain I am climbing to be closer to God. Let’s trust God in what He is doing, and embrace the changes He is bringing to strengthen and mature our relationship with Him.  We must not go back to the way things were, and we must not turn around and long for them.  It did not go well for Lot’s wife when she looked back instead of going forward.

Genesis 19: 17, 26  So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, "Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed… But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

Luke 17:32 Remember Lot's wife.

Change has come on every side
You must come and abide
I will take you on this ride

God is with us every moment of our lives if we will just abide.

In the Encounter last fall one of the speakers prophetically spoke over me. He said” I hear the Father say You must STOP looking back .Im turning you around and pointing you into a new direction. Do not look back because a backward focus is taking you away from promise and purpose the Father has for you , because you can’t see the new thing Father is doing because your attention is on the past. “
Those words were so life giving from the Father. Because little did the man of God know I had been struggling with so much guilt and shame... in that season. I realized in that moment I had to make a conscious decision every day not to look back, but receive the forgiveness of the Father and move forward knowing He makes all things new . Isaiah 43:18-21
“ Do Not remember the former things, not consider the things of old . Behold, I will do a new thing ......
