voice of the lord

We will post on this blog what the Lord is sharing with us as a team.

Each of us hears differently from God because He has given each of us different gifts and abilities. When we bring together what God has given us individually, it creates a beautiful clear picture of God’s hearts and His instructions and plans for us corporately.

May 5, 2020       Appease My Heart

In this season, God is asking us to APPEASE His heart.  The word appease means to make quiet and to bring to a state of peace - everything that is disturbed, ruffled, or agitated. For God at this time, it is to soften the bitterness of judgment.  How can we do that for God?  We have always asked God to do that for us.  We don’t think we have what it takes to do that for Almighty God, but we do!

The Book of Revelation gives us a glimpse of how we are to appease God’s heart.  The 24 elders and the four living creatures who are always before the Throne of God give us the answer.

Revelation 5:8-14
(8)  When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
(9-10)  And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth."
(12)  saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing."
(13)  And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever."
(14)  And the four living creatures kept saying, "Amen." And the elders fell down and worshiped.

They are each holding a harp (representing pure worship) and a golden bowl (full of pure prayers).  We too must position ourselves before God at the altar in pure worship, proclaiming He is Worthy, He alone is Holy.  We must never lose our wonder at how magnificent God is! We too must sing a new song to the Lion and the Lamb. Pure Worship is pleasing to God and is the type of worship the Lord requires from His remnant.

Almighty God places pure prayers in bowls of pure gold before His Throne, showing us how much He cherishes our prayers that align with His heart.  We can have NO mixture in our prayers born out of our fears and selfish desires.

Jesus Christ is worthy and standing ready to release judgments upon the earth.
Are we ready to stand and worship Him purely?
Are we ready to stand and pray His heart without fear, distractions, and self-centeredness?

These are disciplines we must purpose to attain in our lives before the Lord.  If not, we will run a great risk of falling away in the difficult times that are coming!  Let’s all purpose to purely worship and pray before God!

Here are three songs of pure worship that we sang this morning:
“Open the Scroll” by Upper Room
“Whisper” by Jason Upton
“Wonder” by Bethel (You Make Me Brave)
