Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!

The Hebrew word for BROTHERS is ACH, and it contains 2 Hebrew letters, an aleph and a chet. Aleph means TO BE MADE IN GOD’S IMAGE, and CHET means ABUNDANT LIFE. When believers allow God to remake us into HIS IMAGE, and as a result ABUNDANT LIFE will pour out of us, then we can dwell together in unity. Only then we can fulfill the purposes God has for us to do in the times we are living in.

Romans 6:5-6 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; (verse 18) and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

Ephesians 4:24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

The likeness of God means we resemble God in our character. The only way for Christians to dwell together in unity is for us all to be brothers. We saw above that the Hebrew word for brothers is ACH, which means we have a resemblance, we are made in the same likeness. God created mankind in His Image (Genesis 1:26, 5:1), but when sin entered the world, we were made in the image of man (Genesis 5:3). In order for us to truly connect with all believers, we must all die to our old selves, who are slaves of sin.

Our Ways must die, and we must take on the likeness of God. This can only happen when all of God’s people stop being slaves to sin, put on a new self every moment of every day, and become slaves to righteousness.

Are we continually walking in righteousness and holiness according to the truths in God’s word?
