Day 7 - Psalm 119:25-32 - daleth

1/8/2020

January 8
(25)  My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.  (26)  I have declared my ways, and You answered me; Teach me Your statutes.  (27)  Make me understand the way of Your precepts; So shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.  (28)  My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.  (29)  Remove from me the way of lying, And grant me Your law graciously.  (30)  I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me.  (31)  I cling to Your testimonies; O LORD, do not put me to shame!  (32)  I will run the course of Your commandments, For You shall enlarge my heart.
Enero 8      Salmo 119:25-32
“Abatida hasta el polvo está mi alma; Vivifícame según tu palabra. Te he manifestado mis caminos, y me has respondido; Enséñame tus estatutos. Hazme entender el camino de tus mandamientos, Para que medite en tus maravillas. Se deshace mi alma de ansiedad; Susténtame según tu palabra. Aparta de mí el camino de la mentira, Y en tu misericordia concédeme tu ley. Escogí el camino de la verdad; He puesto tus juicios delante de mí. Me he apegado a tus testimonios; Oh Jehová, no me avergüences. Por el camino de tus mandamientos correré, Cuando ensanches mi corazón”

In the AWAKENING that the Lord is wanting to do in us during the beginning part of this fast, we must be honest with ourselves and see where we truly are. David confessed:

• My soul clings to the dust- our mind, will, and emotions are holding onto the things of this world- instead of soaring with the Lord
• I have declared my ways, saying this is the way I want to do things – instead I need to sit at Your feet and let You teach me Your statutes
• I can see that I do not understand the way of Your precepts – please make me understand the way of Your precepts, so I can meditate on your truths
• My soul melts with heaviness – please strengthen me according to Your Word
• Remove the way of lying from me, remove my false ways – please grant me Your law graciously – meaning can I have grace instead of punishment?

Woven in his confession, David declared to the Lord:
• I have chosen the way of truth
• I have laid Your judgments before me
• I cling to Your testimonies – please do not put me to shame
• I will run the course of Your commandments, as You enlarge My heart to have the capacity to do these things!

The Hebrew letter for these eight passages is the DALET, which means a DOOR. In these verses we see the Holy Spirit knocking at the door of our heart, asking to come in with God’s words, statutes, precepts, laws, ways of truth, judgments, testimonies and commands. When we allow the door to be opened to these things, the Holy Spirit can revive us, teach us, give us understanding, strengthen us, cleanse us with grace, and enlarge our hearts so we can receive more of Him.

A DALET has two marks at the top of the letter, which are called ears. One is pointing to the voice of the Holy Spirit, and the other one is pointing to the voice of our flesh.

Galatians 5:16-17 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.

Do we hear the knocking of the Holy Spirit at the door of our heart? What is keeping us from opening that door?

Die Beschäftigung mit Dingen von der Welt ist interessant für mich, doch hilft es nicht, die Gnade Gottes voll auszukosten. Also: Umkehren.

Praise the Lord for Vikki's comments.

I also believe that God wants us to be grounded in Him for every need and in every situation. He has the answer ready in His word!

In v. 25 ln my brokenness; time l am in the valley and can't pick myself up His word will preserve, keep me safe, protect, deliver, rescue and save me!
Like in ' ...the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil ' for He is with me. Psm. 23:4 Blessed assurance!

v. 28 When my soul is weary with sorrows and l can't even find a resting place. I can't be quiet. It is a sure thing that His word will strengthen me.
In Psm. 42:5 The psalmist talks to his soul to quieten it; ' Why are you downcast, oh my soul? Why so disturbed within me?
Put your trust in God. ' We must play an active part in applying the word!!!

v. 29 The way of the world is full of deceit. Deception is the norm for many today because the deceiver has twisted the truth. What used to be bad is now called good and allowed and what use to be good in called bad and is even forbidden! And There is a warning in Isaiah 5:20; ' Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, '
So Lord keep me from deceitful ways!

V.31
Even when shame, humiliation, and disgrace often at hands of an enemy, theatening to overwhelm us. Even then, God has prepared a way of escape. ' May those who seek you not be put to shame....' Psm. 69:6
God' s statutes are available to remind us of what He has already said.

V.32. When my heart is bound and l feel chocked by the troubles of life may l run quickly to the path of His commands that will set my heart free.
It is so amazing how God has already provided solutions for our challenges because He wants us to live in victory!!!

God’s Statutes: a law or decree made by a sovereign, or by God. Ex 15:25 -26
1. Love God (with your heart, soul, and might) – by loving God in such a way, everything else will follow.
2. Listen to God’s voice and His commandments.
3. Seek God entirely; focus on His commandments.
4. Do what God considers to be right; walk in God’s ways.
5. Obey God’s laws, testimonies, and righteous rules.
6. Commit no wrong.

Precepts: a general rule intended to regulate behavior or thought.
Psalms 119:27 - Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so, shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
Psalms 119:40 - Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.

Meditate: think deeply or focus one's mind for a period of time, in silence.
Psalm 1:1-3
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.
