Day 2 - Psalm 119:5-8 - AlepH

1/3/2020

January 3
(5)  Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes!  (6)  Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments.  (7)  I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.  (8)  I will keep Your statutes; Oh, do not forsake me utterly!

Enero 3      Salmo 119:5-8

“¡Ojalá fuesen ordenados mis caminos Para guardar tus estatutos! Entonces no sería yo avergonzado, Cuando atendiese a todos tus mandamientos. Te alabaré con rectitud de corazón Cuando aprendiere tus justos juicios. Tus estatutos guardaré; No me dejes enteramente”

Looked up these words in Strongs:
The Law, Commandments, Testimonies, Statutes, Precepts, Judgement, Word

This is what I saw in the study of God's Word this morning:

We are blessed by doing the will of God which is revealed in the Law of God (Word). The Law of God is His instructions, teaching and direction for us like a signpost. This Word gives us testimony of Jesus life, death and resurrection and how we obtain eternal life in our belief of this revelation and our willingness to die to our flesh and have a testimony.

God gives us defined boundaries to keep us within God's Law, Commandments and His judgments. All of these are appointed by God who makes righteous divine decisions of judgement of His Divine Love through the message of the Word of God as He communicates to us through His Word.

So what will you do with His Word today?

The boundaries are not only for our protection but these boundaries keep us safe. Psalmist says I will praise you with the uprightness of heart when I learn your righteous judgement or you perfect ways. We cannot follow his ways I'd we have not learned. Psalms 37 states the steps of a righteous man are ordered of the Lord. If there is order then there must be boundaries to keep is within the statues.

Lord, I want Your ways to be my ways. Your ways are perfect and sure. I must study your ways, which means I must look at them, learn them, and keep them! When I do, I will not be ashamed.
The word ashamed as several meanings:
• Disappointed- disappointed because something was not as good as we expected or hoped. But we know that God’s ways are perfect, so we can know they are ALL for our good and we will not be disappointed!
• Delayed- when something happens later than we think it should. But we now that God is Sovereign. With Him, things move and happen exactly when God wants them to happen.
• Confused- unable to understand. But we know that as believers we are all given the Holy Spirit, so that we can understand the ways of God!
• Shamed- feeling guilt, regret, or sadness for something we have done. But we know that all our shame and guilt has been washed clean by the precious blood of Christ that He she don the cross of us!
• Disconcerted- to throw into confusion, to be upset or embarrassed. But we know that all our shame and guilt has been washed clean by Jesus Christ on the Cross, forever!
• Anxious- afraid or nervous about what might happen, being fearful, or extreme unease in our mind. But we know that God is not the author of confusion. He will bring us on the right way where we will not be ashamed!
When we carefully study God’s Word and walk in His WAYS, it is then that we can TRULY PRAISE HIM with pure and righteous hearts, with all our body, soul, and spirit!

I will apply His word to my daily walk and seek to receive any course corrections that God needs to make in my life.

Let everything I do help me stay in position within Your boundaries. I will not become anxious or disappointed because I have paid attention to ALL Your commandments. I will praise You with an honest heart, not with my works or in my emotions. I will continue to learn by Your Spirit and Your Word, Your judgements. The more I understand how fair Your laws are, the more sincerely I praise You. I will stay within Your boundaries. Please don’t leave me behind!

Psa 119:5  Oh, that my ways [acts, conduct, course, direction, manner, path] were directed [established, firm, prepared, maintained position] To keep Your statutes[boundaries, conditions, limits, portion]
Psa 119:6  Then I would not be ashamed [become anxious, become dry, disappointed], When I look [consider, depend, gaze, observe, pay attention] into all Your commandments.
Psa 119:7  I will praise You with uprightness [correctly, honest, integrity] of heart, When I learn[ by the Spirit, in His word. Not by theory but by experience] Your righteous judgments[formal decree, divine law].
Psa 119:8  I will keep Your statutes; Oh, do not forsake [abandon, desert, ignore, leave behind] me utterly[all the way, beyond, extremely]

I love how the psalmist is in love with God and His Word. The laws, commandments and statutes of the Lord are not burdensome to him but, he knows that they are sheer delight. A prayer cry "Ah Lord! That my ways were so directed that I might keep Your statutes." Then, I would never have a reason to be ashamed by iniquity because I have respect and reverance for all of Your commandments (Adjusted into my own words :-D) I love it! When we are blessed to have the learned the Lord's righteous judgments our hearts can't help but to give Him praise (vs 6) and a rejoicing comes when we simply obey and observe them. Something I always say to the Lord... "Father within Your boundaries of holiness & righteousness are my freedom. Anything outside of Your commands are bondage. Everything within Your Word makes perfect sense." One in their right mind would do well to apply Your Word to any situation and ALL THINGS WILL MAKE SENSE. OH JESUS! The one who walks in God's law, walks with God. (Blessings & hugs)

"A devout soul prays for holiness. And purity in our way and walk is the truest form of being blessed. Holiness is happiness". (A quote I noted in my journal from someone- don't have name at this moment)
