Day 8 - Psalm 119:33-36 - HE

1/9/2020

January 9
 (33)  Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end.  (34)  Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.  (35)  Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.  (36)  Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.
Enero 9      Salmo 119:33-36
“Enséñame, oh Jehová, el camino de tus estatutos, Y lo guardaré hasta el fin. Dame entendimiento, y guardaré tu ley, Y la cumpliré de todo corazón. Guíame por la senda de tus mandamientos, Porque en ella tengo mi voluntad. Inclina mi corazón a tus testimonios, Y no a la avaricia.”

Psa 119:35 ISV Help me live my life by your commands, because my joy is in them. This verse reminds us that it should not be burdensome to walk in His path but should be a delight. We forget this when our focus is on people and not on Him. Make me oh Lord walk in the way of your commandments

The original pictograph for this letter is , a man standing with his arms raised up. The Modern Hebrew, and original name for this letter, is hey, a Hebrew word meaning "behold," as when looking at a great sight. This word can also mean "breath" or "sigh," as one does when looking at a great sight. The meaning of the letter is behold, look, breath, sigh, reveal and revelation from the idea of revealing a great sight by pointing it out.

Behold the statues and delight in them.

In this passage it is so heartwarming to see how God wants to work together with us through our life's journey. He waits for us to ask, seek and knock. We position ourselves in a position to receive his guidance, teaching, gift and a willing spirit to respond with action.

v.33 God TEACHES us the way us of his statutes.

Our RESPONSE is to OBSERVE it !

v.34. God GIVES us understanding of his law. If we lack the revelation of what he is saying we cannot follow and do. In Prov. 4:7. He says , ' Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom; and with all your getting get understanding.' Wisdom is supreme and only God can give it together with understandings!!!

When God has given us then we should OBSERVE it and keep it to work for us.

v.35. God is the one wo MAKES us willing to walk in the paths of his commandments.

Our RESPONSE is to DELIGHT in it. It is very important to delight in the things God does for us.

v.36 God helps to incline, turn our hearts to his statutes..testimonies.

We need to respond by turning away from selfish gain. The world today is luring people more and more into go-,get for self. And money talks. It has become a god. It represents power, influence, and success in the world. But all this is vanity without God.

Thank you Lord that we don't have to do your word, precepts, decrees, laws, statutes and walk in your ways all by ourselves. You are with us to help us.😁🙏

The Hebrew letter for this section of scriptures is HEI. It is pronounced like the sound of an exhale. It represents the Holy Spirit that resides inside of a believer. He breathed life into us when we accepted Jesus as our Messiah, transforming us into a new identity. Every day He continues to breathe life into us when we are weak and faltering, strengthening us as we daily read and study the Scriptures!

The word for MEDITATE has a HEI at the beginning and end, with the letter for MAN in-between. When we meditate on the Scriptures we INHALE the Breath of God; and then we are to EXHALE that Breath God gave us and share what we learned to others around us, in our words, actions, and attitudes.

We see this exhibited in Psalm 119: 33-36. We BREATHE IN the Holy Spirit when we ask Him to:
• Teach us the way of His Statutes
• Give us understanding
• Make us walk in the path of His commandments
• Incline (bend) our hearts to His testimonies
We BREATHE OUT the Holy Spirit when we:
• Keep (guard and preserve) His statutes to the end (completely all the days of our lives)
• Keep (treasure and guard) and observe His Law with our whole heart
• Take delight in the path His commandments take us
• Not incline (bend) out hearts to dishonest gain (covetousness)

HEI also means WINDOW OF OUR SOUL. Is there light coming out of that window today? Will we breathe in the Holy Spirit every day so we can be steadfast in being a light to God and others all the days of our lives?

In vs 34 he asks for understanding. In the NIV vs 32 says: "I run in the path of your commands, for you have broadened my understanding."

"God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore."
1 Kings 4:29 NIV

May He give us this much understanding as He gave Solomon so we'll keep His commandments and find delight!

Thank you all who have been sharing, it's been a true blessing to learn with/from you!
