Day 3 - Psalm 119:9-12 - BETH

1/4/2020

January 4        Psalm 119:9-12           Beth
(9)  How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.  (10)  With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!  (11)  Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.  (12)  Blessed are You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes.
Enero 4      Salmo 119:9-12
“¿Con qué limpiará el joven su camino? Con guardar tu palabra. Con todo mi corazón te he buscado; No me dejes desviarme de tus mandamientos. En mi corazón he guardado tus dichos, Para no pecar contra ti. Bendito tú, oh Jehová; Enséñame tus estatutos.”

In Hebrew letter beth (meaning "house") is associated with the following Biblical locations. Bethel, "house of God (cf. El)" – (see Genesis 28:19) Bethlehem, "house of bread." Ironically, in the book of Ruth, there was a famine in Bethlehem, the "house of bread", which led Naomi's family to Moab, where she met Ruth.

The Greatest Commandment:

Mark:12: 29-31 (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. 30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

My question to the Lord was why must His word be hidden? Doesn’t hidden mean to hide, to prevent discovery of, to conceal? If you continue looking, it also means to be stored up, save, stealthily watch or treasure.
When you think of a treasure, you think of something of great worth and so valuable, that you have to hide it in a secret, secure place. Not just a place where it is easily accessible or temporarily available. A place where it is safe from robbery, or in times of danger. A place where you only you can access it in times of need. We hide His word just like a sword that is hidden in its sheath, ready to be drawn at a moments notice.
His word needs to be hidden, not just in our minds where we we remember most things but in our hearts, the center of who we are. The core of our feelings, desires, joy, pain and love. The center for our thoughts, understanding and will are. The place where the Holy Spirit and the Lord dwell.

We hide His word, this valuable treasure so that it can be guarded against the dangers of sin and when it is needed, it is found in the very core of who we are…in our heart. But most importantly we do this so that we do not sin against HIM!

“ Oh, that my WAYS we’re directed (subject to supervision or regulation) to keep Your statutes! . . I will praise You with uprightness (good, honest, honorable, virtuous, correct in judgement, righteous) of heart, when I learn Your righteous judgements.”

👑Sons and Daughters, My Voice in the Garden is of the PUREST CHARACTER! Faith is more than knowledge of Me, it must be rooted in trust of My ABILITY and MERCY to mold you into My IMAGE! You must be cleansed from ALL your WAYS that have tainted your understanding and misguided your theology of My true character!

👑Beloved of My Garden, I will take you deep, deep into My Word with this chosen fast showing you where your WAYS have twisted you in places of active displeasures (violence) towards Me, cyclic behaviors, and thought patterns from your iniquity. Places where your works belie you’re Faith. These are places where works counterfeit, disguise, mask, contradict, and even have charmed your faith UNAWARE through sin and iniquity but I will mold back into My Image!

It is of vast importance that you respond with repentance to My WORD! I SEE with immeasurable mercy, forgiveness, and redemption! You must SEE the wideness of divine mercy that seeks and pursues “Nineveh”. They are MINE and I need you to look, smell, and sound like My Image! (A visual representation; exact likeness; reproduction)

👑Blessed Ones, how far are you willing to invest yourself to My Word, to live forgiveness not judgement, and be the aroma of redemption! I am sending you to “Nineva”, but My Character will be the only successful witness there. (Consider, Jonah)
So it will be Myself alone, My Spirit, My Word that will show you where you have flagrantly disobeyed, or exercised and defended your wrongness. I am sending you, but I need you to look just like Me!! The depth of Mercy I will show you on this fast, the revelation of your “hidden WAYS” will bring about such pure worship on the Mountain that it will usher in REVIVAL!
👑O yes, Sons and Daughters, fast unto Me; voluntarily embrace this suffering and weakness! I am soaking the altars with oil. I am your High Priest, who understands all of your weakness. Nothing in all creation is hidden from Me. Everything is open and exposed before My eyes, the One in whom you are accountable. So come boldly to My throne of grace and you will receive mercy in your time of need. Heb 4.13-16

Beit is the 2nd letter of the Hebrew Alphabet. It is a picture of a house or a dwelling, with a roof, wall, floor, and an open door on the left.

Our passage today opened with a question- “How can a young man cleanse his way?” He was acknowledging that the ways he was walking in were not always pure, not always lining up with God’s ways. The answer was- “By taking heed of Your Word.” The Hebrew word for “taking heed” is shamar, which means to hedge in or enclose with thorns.

This reminded me of the passage in Hosea 2:6-7 when God spoke to Gomer, a harlot. She represented God’s people who were continually playing the harlot with false gods. Therefore (since you have played the harlot), behold (look closely) I will HEDGE UP YOUR WAYS WITH THORNS, and I will build a wall against you so that you cannot finds YOUR PATH (so she cannot go back to her lovers). She decides it would be best to go back to her husband. The Hebrew word for hedge up your way with thorns is shamar, the same word used in Psalm 119:9 for taking heed. When someone had something of value that they wanted preserved from wild animals or raiders, they would build a thorny hedge around it to keep them out. In Gomer’s case, God was building the thorny hedge to keep her in and protected.

So the passage in Psalm 119 was saying that the way to walk in purity is to allow God’s word to set a thorny hedge around us, as a BOUNDARY. Just like the letter BEIT is a boundary- a dwelling for us. We have the free will to stay in the house or to leave by the door. But to walk in God’s ways, we need to stay within the boundaries God has provided for us in His Word!

Glory be to God <3 For some good reason this portion of the Psalm (119:9-12) makes me think of the Rich Young Ruler (Mark 10:18-). The young man had come to Jesus saying "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" And the Lord said to him, why do you call Me good. No one is truly good but God." 👈Right here, Jesus is already trying to get the young man to love God (Jesus knowing that He, Himself is good) Praise the Lord of Host! Then He said to him... But to answer your question, you know the commandments: ‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. You must not cheat anyone. Honor your father and mother.

So the rich young ruler was like "I have observed all these commandments since I was younger. And Jesus told him well then go and sell all of your posessions, give them to those in need and follow Me. But he couldn't keep all of God's commands because at the core of His heart, he really didn't love God. He observed all the other commands (laws, decrees, statues) but he couldn't keep his ways pure because he didn't love the Lord our God with all of his heart, mind, soul and strength. Having God Himself and the love of God in my heart is a testimony and this is to always be treasured above all riches. "David" or whoever my wonderful brother is... had an ongoing passion for the Lord and to me this is why in every section I feel like he's saying the same thing. But the love he has in heart is like Lord "Blessed are You, O'God I have treasured Your words in my heart and with my whole heart I will continue to seek You. Don't let me deter from Your commands because I am in love with You. My soul longs for You God! Teach me, stay with Me because this is the only way we can keep our ways pure." I understand your cry my friend. It's all love, love, love and I pray that I can and will keep the first command. Because God is truly good.
